2015- Summer. Overhead beauty shot of Yamato. Not entirely accurate as there were no gun tubs on the bow and the AAAs were not domed around the turrets. However the prototype model of the ship( Musashi version) a rare picture of the model showed how the ships would have been outfitted had the resources and time been available and it showed gun tubs and domed triple AAs and secondaries which was far more than what either ship carried on board. I went with that somewhat in areas of the model. The photo can be found in the book Musashi- The Building and Sinking of the World's Biggest Battleship. I think I got the title right if not close enough. Yamato needs a refit. Inside and out. New catupults and planes, new paint job. New servo firing platform and new mounts to secure the expansion accummulator tanks.
One of my most favorite models to drive around and battle. Extremely stable gun platform. People recognize it as the Other Titanic. INSERT LAUGH HERE.

This is an awesome pic. Do you think it is possible to arm the cannons situated along the superstructure? Say for example they are fixed but can still fire?
    • CURT
@Rob3869 In this scale 1/144 you can arm them but it would be very difficult . I seen a South Dakota class BigGun model armed that way .

How do you keep the superstructure in such good shape?
    • CURT
@Anvil_x That superstructure is made of fiberglass so BBs bounce off of it. The rigging is piano wire so it resists BBs and when knocked off a yardarm it is easy to glue back on. The Secondary guns and AA dome guns are made of vinyl resin and Brass barrels. The mast is made of brass and with so much wire and support it rarely every gets damaged. The smaller bits are easy to replace quickly or repair so I can keep up with the damage. Most parts shot off end up still aboard so I can put them back on quickly.

      do you have armed secondaries?
    • CURT
@Nibbles1 No as the secondaries are way too small to mount a gun and by rules of fast gun only main turrets are armed .
