Brechin Piper's HMS Cumberland sunk by Tom Cromwell's IJN Nagato during a NABS fleet battle at lake Banook, Dartmouth, NS. Probably in 2004-2007.
Nagato is here in St.John's Newfoundland where it received a new internal refit. A new rotating 3rd turret rotating system, 2 new stinger pumps, new props and engines and drive shafts. New internal armour wiring and electronics. The model needs cosmectic repair to the superstructure and a new paint job.
I'm still tempted to buy back the Cumberland, which is in Halifax at Brechin's parents' home. The deciding factor will be if I can contact Steve Hill or not and get the non-bulged County Class hull he made for me in 2009. If I can get it I'll build either HMS Dorsetshire in white and buff China Station colours, or HMS London post-early WWII reconstruction. Both ships can be built from the same hull and I have good plans for both. I like London's rebuilt and simplified superstructure which strongly resembled the Swiftsure Class CLs.
