      <content:encoded><![CDATA[Little build for my SMS Mackensen which is a prototype SJS kit. Production hulls have already benefitted a bit from me building this one, even before it&#039;s hit the water.<br />
<br />
Really glad IRCWCC has voted to start allowing some of these &quot;mostly finished&quot; kind of hulls. Should be a fun boat, if not amazingly competitive. She is <i>long</i>. But this does give you a bunch of room for components.<br />

With the loss of Strike and the Northampton hull, I decided to make a mold to fill the gap since it&#039;s one of the best Allied cruisers.  Hopefully the rule change to allow Class 3 to split one unit passes this year so it can get Triples.  I&#039;m also considering making printed internals to make a hybrid fiberglass / printed boat.       <content:encoded><![CDATA[I am planning 2 ships, they will be for the most part identical except the bow details that are the identifying fetures that distinguish them from each other.  I am planning on both of the builds being fiberglass hull construction in much the way Modelshipsahoy builds his hulls, props to the mad genius.       <content:encoded><![CDATA[The HMS Erin kit from SJS has been getting lonely on the bench, so I decided to put the hull together with some spare epoxy. <br />
<br />
Ever since Mike Mangus brought one to IRC Nats 2011 and won most feared it has been a boat I wanted to build. <br />
<br />
I planning to make a how-to video for the build as well.<br />

Anyways I glued the forward pieces together with epoxy, took about 45 min mainly because one set of fasteners were not facing the best way (which has been corrected)<br />

I decided on VDT because I wanted a semi smallish ship I could loan out and have less boat to patch while also having 3 guns with decent speed and turning. I wanted to do a detailed build thread like I did on Malaya but progressed too quickly. The ship has been float tested but not ran in the water yet. All systems check out and these guns may fire slightly better than my last ones. Ether way thrilled to get it...<br />

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[Well I havent posted much in a while, but we&#039;ve still been semi-active down in SoCal with SCRAP. Over the last year or so I&#039;ve mostly been battling and maintaing the Bayern, I-boat and even the FS Volta has gotten a few sorites in. <br />

When Strike put on their final sale I figured I pick something up even if I wasn&#039;t going to build it right away. I grabbed a Moltke with a deck and plans. I&#039;ve finally got the itch to start building and I&#039;ve blown the dust off of her.<br />
