I'd forgotten that Brechin's HMS Cumberland ran without the boxy hangar aft for a while. This is how she looked while serving in the Pacific Fleet at the end of WWII. Appearance much improved by removal of the hangar.

It's unfortunate HMAS Canberra's and HMS Cumberland's service in the NABS fleet didn't overlap. It would have been great to see 2 Kent Class heavy cruisers working together.

My model of SNS Canarias had been sold by this time so I never got to battle her against a Kent Class cruiser - they had identical hulls and main armament. I suspect Canarias with her dual stern guns woud have done better than Cumberland with bow and stern guns.
