Stephen Hill's Tennessee is to the left with it's unique BB loading tube doubling as a mast behind the funnel. The hull to the right of Canberra is Warspite's before being modified from Ralph Coles' early 1930s hull design to Warspite post-reconstruction. This dates the photo to 1999.

Espana looks pristine, this being less than a year after the model was completed. She took very little damage in competiton because no one would come close to her after the first couple of battles (low freeboard, fast turning, effective guns and lots of impenetrable area due to 20 casemate guns and 4 embrasures). I'd aleady realized she'd see little action, being too slow to catch any other ship in the NABS fleet, and had decided to replace her with the Warspite.
