This model was built by Paul March for me. He learned about the Hobby and with a cassette tape that was sent to him by Herr Flueguel he learned how to build these ships. I had no clue. This model was my first and it did have many issues. It was a learning curve ship for sure into the hobby. The year was 1987. I rarely had a successful run. The model was fast but turned very wide. Everything on it was made of balsa. No plans to go by. Only a 1/700 scale waterline model as a reference which we took measurements off of and then used a conversion to bring it to 1/144 scale. I thought this model at 3lbs and 4o something inches long was Huge! Well next to my 1/350 scale RC Iowa and the Lindberg Tirpitz. Now 27 years later I am building the Montana.
