The Southy and the HMS Cumberland. Circa 2005.These 2 ships saw action albeit not quite successfully but action nevertheless.
I started to build the Cumberland as Suffolk, modifying the aft deck of one of my County Class hulls around 1999. With Canarias being built simultaneously from another County Class hull I decided I didn't need Suffolk and sold it partly finished: fiberglass deck with molded hatch openings, propshafts, motors, pump and armour installed. A few years later it returned to NABS still incomplete and Brechin Piper, then a teen, bought it. I helped him and his dad get it combat ready. It resides in Halifax at his father's home. It was one of 2 NABS County Class cruisers, the other being Rob Clark's Aussie version.
The South Carolina sunk Tom's Nagato just as it too was sinking from hits by the Nagato. That one still still stings with Tom even to this day.
@CURT Do you remember another infamous sink involving Tom's Nagato? As it went under a BB cannon barrel was solidly jammed onto the HMS Nelson's deck and Nelson (also near sinking) was dragged under.
