Ralph Coles, standing, and Eric Broderick with Ralph's Tirpitz at Maynard Lake, Dartmouth; probably 1997.
Ralph's first successful ship after the Nelson he built by scratch for the first time. The Tirpitz had all of it's engines and props working and the pump's outlet was directly placed in the stern block. This was a Swampwork's kit . Ralph had nice detail on this model and it was not bad. It was defeated by Bismarck twice. The 2nd time it sank. The first sink it had was from rough water battling when the bow was swamped by waves and the Tirpitz while underway submerged itself bow first with the stern pointing vertical out of the water.
