1/144 C3 Hull and Bogue CVE plans 1.0

Plans to build a C3 hull and escort carriers built on a C3 hull such as the Bogue.

Additionally I've included the instructions to build the hull, a list of all C3 ships that you can build from this hull, and plans to build the superstructure for a seaplane tender.

The hull parts are all 1/4"
The C3 deck parts are all 1/8" - these are only needed if you are building a cargo ship and are not for the CVE
The CVE hanger deck is designed to be cut from 1/8" lite ply, which is a light weight Poplar plywood you can get at most hobby stores.



Files
*.pdf files are the parts laid out for laser cutting. These are on 12” x 20” (300mm x 500mm) sheets and have the part outlines offset by 0.004” (0.1mm) to compensate for the laser kerf. Lines in black are cut through while lines in magenta are text to be etched only. The best material for these parts is Baltic Birch plywood. Two sizes of Baltic birch are used: 1/4” thick (which is really slightly oversized 6mm) and 1/8” (actually 3mm). Baltic Birch also uses a non-waterproof glue which is safer and easier to laser cut. Note that if you use plywood with true 1/4” or 1/8” dimensions that the notches will probably be too tight to put together. You would need to manually open up the notches or sand down the thickness of the parts.

*.pdf files are also the best files to use if you are cutting out parts by hand.

*.dwg files are the original parts (no offset) that can pulled into your CAD program to be manipulated or changed. Use these files if you want to create 3D printer extrusions of the parts or input them into a CAM program to cut out with a router.

You can send these files to a commercial laser cutter to be cut out. You can also sell the parts for profit.
