I spoke with Bob Pottle, and he suggested that we hold the 2009 conference down here in the states.
I have spoken with Roland, and he says that he can host the event in Ravenna in August. So we need to come up with dates, and put it on our schedule.
So what weekend works out best for everyone, and how many days do we want to battle? Last year, we did a Thursday-Sunday.
    More on this later.
    In addition.
We discussed trying to put together a late-fall event in Mass., or there-abouts, so that we can have an event with Treaty battlers from both the US and Canada this year.
We also discussed having the 2010 conference in Canada.
I will post up-dates on these in the near future.

Since no one has tossed any dates out there yet, how about the weekends of ...

    Aug 13th ~ 15th
    Aug 27th ~ 30th

I don't have any plans at present, so I'm willing to work around other people's schedules.

I also have left the entire month open just in case.
I will have Roland look into the local schedule and make sure there are no issues with getting motel rooms for those weekends.

I am wondering if we need to also have a back-up weekend set aside just in case
    of a weather issue.
So if we set the dates for the second weekend of the month, should we set the
    following weekend as a back-up?
Not that we have ever done it before, but it is just a thought.

I am also wondering if we should consider inviting the big-gunners to battle in
    between our sorties again.

I don't think it would hurt to invite the Biggunners. I see the biggest issue being that we might be more interested in watching their sorties then in getting our own ships turned around!

    Hello all,
I started a file in the Data Base section on the Treaty Yahoo site for our 2009 Conference meet that will be held in Aug. Please list your name, ships nam, and frequency. I'm sure Mikey will post the dates soon. Last year we did Thursday to Sunday which worked out very well.

I would like to get the dates for the conference set.
It looks like both weekends that were being discussed would work out for those that are planning to attend.
I would prefer to set the dates for August 13-16, unless someone actually needs more time to get ready, or needs to have the event on the later weekend (August 27-30).
So please reply concerning the dates, so that we can get them posted.

In either case, I think that we should definately do Thursday-Sunday.
It worked out well last year.

I could be the C.D. for the event. But if someone else wants to pick it up and run with it, then that would be fine by me.

I would like to see us try at least some 3-sortie battles.
I have been giving it a lot of thought, and I think there are 2 really good reasons to try it.
    First off.
It would give the cruisers a third sortie to try to accumulate damage on specific larger targets, and give them a better chance to score a sink for their team. Of course, they will also have a chance to take more damage, and might sink themselves.
    Secondly.
It would require us to take the time to patch only one time per day, while achieving the goal of six sorties per day.
At past events, we were able to get in a third fleet battle, but we had to patch twice.

I like the idea of three sortie battles. The third sortie could be very very interesting!
