I know Mikey is considering having a building session this weekend, probabally at his house in Pleasant Hill, OH. I don't know if his internet has returned since the storm knocked it out, but if he doesn't chime in I'll try and call him tonight. Would this weekend work for you, and what day would be better?

    WOW!
We had a huge build-session yesterday.
Lots of folks, with lots of boats.

Mark was there with his Gridley class destoyer, his Baltimore, and his lap-top.
He is making great progress on his Gridley. He also brought one of his new cannons over to demo.
Erica came over with him, and the girls retired to the game-rooms.

Phil was there with his Indefatigable.
He spent most of the day working with the others on various components.
He also had his new sailboat (not for the combat). A footy (or something like that).
He also brought over a couple brand new Blue Devil destroyer kits that he found at one of the local stores. We were all checking those out, as they are almost the correct scale.

    Scott drove over from Indiana.
    He brought his Viribus Unitus.
We got the cannons working, and the boat is pretty much combat-ready.
He also brought an old partially assembled Blue Devil kit, and we were looking at all of the various pieces that might be usable in our scale.
I think he also purchased one of the Baltimore kits from Mark, and took it home with him.
He also had a landing craft on hand. I think it was 1/144 scale as well.

I had my Alaska sitting on the shelf for display, and also had the Le Terrible down a few times to show it off to the folks that are interested in the destroyers.
I generally hopped around from one station to the next assisting the other folks with their projects.

Matt dropped in with his Emperor of India.
We got the sub-deck, and decks on, and marked off the locations for the barbettes.
The shafts, and rudders are in place, and the motor-mounts, and drive set-up is started.
He picked up Bobo's old Alabama, and took it home with him.

Eric Noble dropped in with his trusty old Markgraf, and the Queen Mary.
He mainly worked on re-building the superstructure on the Queen Mary.
He also brought his Indefatigable hull with him, and I traded the Jap light cruiser Agano hull for it. So he took the little Jap cruiser home with him.

Josh made it up, and brought both the Von Der Tann, and his trusty old Pocket-battleship.
He worked on re-sheeting the cruiser, and discussed the idea of scheduling a gaming-day for Axis/allies, and meeting up with Urnst (the gentleman that was stationed on one of the pocket-battleships during WW2).

We watched Pursuit of the Graf Spee, Sink the Bismarck, and some other war movies.
Talked up the boats, and had a great time.
There were a few others that were planning to attend, but couldn't make it this time. So we will be scheduling some more in the near future.
    I hope I didn't forget anyone.
We closed down the shop at 10:30pm. We started at 9:30am.

We had a build-session in Red Lion this weekend.
    I showed up early.
I had the Alaska, and the Le Terrible with me.
Vance was planning to make the trip down with me, but he was not feeling well on Saturday. So we put the long roadtrip on hold to see if he would start feeling better later in the day.
As it turned out, he decided to let me go on alone, and stay close to the old homestead.
So Bobo and I showed off our various building projects.
Alaska and Le Terrible for me.
North Carolina, Kongo (WW2), V.V., and last, but not least, the Richelieu project. A top-secret dual build that the two of us had put into place early last year, so that we could help the IRCWCC allies wrest control of the seas from the axis dogs.
Dave V. showed up with his partially built Alaska.
What a work of art that boat is.
I was embarrassed to have my old heap in the same work-shop with his masterpiece. So we all gave it a good going over, and Dave explained how he made his barbettes, and turrets, and such.
When our good friend Dave left the session, he was without a boat, as I had decided to purchase this wonderful looking ship for Vance.
I am not sure what he will name it yet, as I got back home too late to show it to him. So that will happen this morning.
    I will post up-dates.

This will also be our Denmark Straits event. So at some point during the weekend we will re-enact the battle of the Denmark Straits.

We did not do the battle of the Denmark Straits re-enactment at the event this past weekend.
Roland's Bismarck was there and on the water, but was experiencing radio problems that would not allow it to enter combat.
And our Prince of Wales was not ready.
So we decided to postpone the battle until our next event, which will most likely be held in Ravenna, Ohio sometime in June.
As soon as we get some dates put together, we will post an up-date.

Here is the link for the big R/C airshow going on this weekend at the Wright-Pat AF museum here in Dayton.
We are hoping to display the boats at least one or two days of this event.
    Looking at the weather..
There is a chance of rain on both Saturday, and Sunday.
    Monday's weather looks great.
I will try to post up-dates on the display.

Ralland is trying to put together a battle up in his neck of the wood in the next couple of weeks.
And we are working out the dates for our fall battle in Xenia. The Xenia battle will most likely
    be in October some time.

Just posting something on the events that I have heard about.

    Weekend of Sept. 17-18.
Looks like the Dayton area folks will be displaying the boats at the WACO air museum both days.

There was mention of a build-session in Red Lion, Pa.

    Weekend of Sept. 24-25.
    Two-day battle in Hinkley, Ohio.

    Weekend of Oct 1-2.
    Build-session in Brookston, Indiana.
I can't remember if this is a two-day build-session, or just one day.

    Weekend of Oct. 8-9.
Nothing on the schedule so far. Really?
But I would imagine that we will be doing some building in the Dayton area, in order to get boats ready for the fall battle in Xenia the following weekend.

    Weekend of October 15-16.
It looks like this will be our fall battle in Xenia, Ohio.
    Two-days. Saturday, and Sunday.
Battlestations will also be in attendance, and battling in between the Treaty sorties.

Sometime in early November I will be hosting the build-your-dreamboat
builds-session at my boat-shop in Pleasant Hill, Ohio.
This will be a two-day session where the old hands will assemble to help the newer folks build the boat of their dreams.
Both ship kits, and wooden projects (from scratch), and perhaps even a used boat that was picked up from someone else will be run through the assembly line, in order to help folks get their projects off of the ground.
This will be an all-format event.
So just make sure that you have your ship's plans on hand, as well as the materials that you will be needing.
