    Hello All
After my problems with the Spektrum radio I started looking around for a replacement. I have had Airtronics radios for years and had very good luck. SO I called up and asked if they could help me out . The teck guys figured the Sd-5G should fit the bill. I also checked out the video on you tube to see how it worked out.
I ordered my radio for $118.00 and it was delivered right on time. Fresh out of the box it is neat in appearance and all black. The radio doesnt come with batterys no big deal. I notice that the dual ant. wires are about 2 times longer then the Spec. according to the tech guys that makes a big difference in the range used for surface. Now in this radio it came already factory bound but it comes with a easy users manual that walks you through with photos on how to bind and check everything. It is set up to be able to do 3 model memory. It has a low battery alarm and some other goodies.
I put it in My new Oregon City Cruiser that had problems last year with the Spektrum radio. Hooked up the proboat esc and had JJ our new come over and off to the pond at coon hunters we went. Now my South Dakota BB had just had a proboat esc put in so I was very anxious to see how it would work. We put the ships in the water and I checked out the So Dak first , man what a differnce !! At full throtal it jumped out of the water !! SO everythign working I gave the controls to JJ and helped him get use to it an dthen set up my cruiser. I was kind of worried after the problems last year. First off I like the feel the radio gives in the hand , it just seems to fit right in. Turned every thing on and started gingerly out , the ship reacted to every command with out missing a beat. I started running out further and keeping pace with the BB. Pretty soon we were al over the pond! All in all we had avery good afternoon. I was pleasantly grateful to how well the radio worked basically right out of the box. The user manually was full of helpful hints. And I may have figured out part of the problems I had. just a quick note here, on your 2.4 radios if you are holding the radio parrelle to the ground you want your antenne to be vertical to the ground, I didnt know this before.
I would suggest this to anyone looking for a radio. Not a high dollar but a good solid radio.

Well this past weekend finally got to really try out my new airtronics radio in my oregon city. I dare say it worked like a champ !! I was all over the pond and then some , it never missed a beat !! I battled againts the USS Salem which was being borrowed out to try the anylink radio. neither of us had any problems. The only down side is the newer radios charge jacket is different size then the older ones. so a older charger will not plug in, I used a raovac chager to take care of the batterys. Charged once and went the whole weekend with out rechargeing again, still holding at 8 volts.
