It looks like a good choice. Are you planning to get your hardware and cannons at the same time?

It is a good boat, and should do well against the other class 4 types that are currently popular in MI.
As a bounus is is very good looking.

    Its advantages are:
Good sidemount locations, the "haymaker" sidemount in perticular could be very effective.
Good amount of weight to carry batteries and other equipment.

Disadvantage is that it only has 2 drive shafts, and a reputation for taking stern gun fire.

I would suggest leaving the stripes off untill you are good enough to handle the attention.

The Doria class, as well the Cavour class before them,

Were originally 4 shaft ships, it was reduced to 2 shafts when they were rebuilt. Depending of which type of combat you are interested in... I would recommend doing a little research on both as-built and reconstructed versions.

If you are having trouble finding plans, Taubman lists plans for both classes, including both versions of the Cavour class. The plans are from ANB and very high quality... although they are pricey.

Hey it would be a very good choice! Greg Rusack had one here in ohio and it was mean! It could almost ster as good in reverse as it could forward, so his trick was to come in and shoot you then hit reverse and turn as he backed away! Very hard to hit and could slide in to bigger ships where their guns were not at!

Some thing to remember about the Cavors and Dorias is that when they were rebuilt, the second small auxiliary rudder was removed, so every one one of those built with a BC hull and has the extra 50% rudder area is illegal.

My Regia Marina, Italian Battleships of World War 2, shows after their refits, that they still had the aux rudder.

Of course this is only one source, and could be wrong.

Not so, better check your info on that one.

You could be right, it's something someone told me once. I havent looked at any of my sources to confirm it. Wouldn't be the first time I was mistaken.

I think the Cavors and Dorias had 2 rudders over their entire life.
