    Hey guys,
I created a user on this board a long time ago because i thought the hobby was really interesteing. Unfortunatly, i haven't been able to clear time to make my own ship.
That being said, i want to see yours! Ann Arbor is having its 3rd annual Mini Maker Faire, and we invite you guys to come show off your stuff! If only one or two of you would like to come, i can set you up with a regular sized booth, but if the group wants to come out in force, we can set up an area for you to float around your ships. I dont think we can allow you to actually shoot the guns (unless you cna offer up some sort of protection) but i think it would be a great way for you guys to get your group out there. last year we had about 3000 people show up, so prepair to be asked a lot of questions :)

With appropriate funding, a large enough club can build its own portable battle pond, complete with protective screens for the audience. That's what the Western Warship Combat Club does at the San Mateo Maker Faire every year. We've got a very large club (20+ participants regularly) and sufficient funding from the Maker Faire event organizers, and thanks to that we're the single largest attraction at the Faire.

If there aren't enough local battlers to set up and take down the pond, run the event, etc, then a booth or two would be great. Unfortunately Michigan is a bit far for me to travel this year, so I will not be able to attend.

There are a couple of Yahoo groups where you might want to post.
    http://groups.yahoo.com/group/TreatyCombat/
    http://groups.yahoo.com/group/BigGunsModelWarship/
    http://groups.yahoo.com/group/IRCWCC/

If you don't want to join those groups, I'm a member of all of them and would be happy to post there for you. Send me an email offline (keri at strikemodels dot com) with what you'd like to post and I'll put it up there.

    Keri

I send an email w/ this link to the guys in GLAS. One of the Au brothers moved to Cleveland area and now has his own nice pond we fought on it the other weekend after we fixed his dock. Our old pond in E. Lansing has moved due to progress we now are battling at a camp in Ionia.
