    Hey all,
I'm currently looking for a full set of 1/144 scale French Submarine Surcouf Plans,
Does anyone have a set or know where i can find them?
I found a link on another thread but it appears to be broken.

Thanks a bunch for the help!

There are 1/96 plans in the "Free Warship Plans" section under the "Members" menu. Just resize them to be 50% smaller in your favourite graphics program.

You would actually want to resize them to 66.666%.

A word of warning, I have been helping a friend build one in 1/96 and it is very difficult to work on even in the larger scale.

Here are the plans from the French Archive,

    http://3dhistory.de/wordpress/warship-drawings-warship-blue-prints-warship-plans/french-submarine-drawingsplan-sets/french-submarine-surcouf-as-build-1929

You'll have to change the scale but that is pretty trivial.

I have the French plans rescaled, I'll send you a link to the download tonight while some props and gun magazines print.

Note to others: I'm going to have my Google Sites download page accessible shortly, just have to figure out some of the settings. Thanks to generous assistance from others, it has the whole French archive and a few other open-source plans. As time progresses, each ship will have stuff scaled to 1/144 and 1/96, at least the plan and profile views, and the frames. Age of Sail ships will be scaled to 1/48. I do not have Adobe Acrobat, so I can't make them pdfs. yet. That would be very nice in the long run, reducing file size and making printing easy.

Also, does anyone have any dimensions for the surcouf? Interested in the length, depth, and width...
and i dont believe the computer i use has acrobat...so what would be the best way of going about re-sizing the plans once i have a copy downloaded?...

Dimensions on Wikipedia. For resizing, I use GiMP. www.gimp.org

Found the frames drawing, finding the plan and profile. Wierdly missing from the hard drive. easy enough to scale the French ones.

alright so if i scaled it right, these should be the 1/144 scale dimensions of the surcouf:

    Length: 2.5 Feet
    Width: 2.46 Inches
    Draft: 1.98 Inches

This look right to you guys?
Also, Draft refers to the depth of the hull from the deck down am i right?

Sounds about right. Draft is from the waterline, I usually go with correct beam & length when scaling.
