Just what I need.... another build project! I have missed this thread somehow, dont know how, but somehow I have never seen this catagory.. darn it to hell! I have been pondering with Jeff for a couple of years now on trying out the Age of Sails style ship combat. We never really got the idea going though.. Looks like there is some interest going here... I will join in of you all need another captain. I have a few years experience in building plank on frame square riggers. My last build is a 1:64 USS Syren 18 gun Brig. She is just starting to get planked here. The red is the inside color of the gun ports... I like to paint these before planking.. For a larger view click here! I even have a set on plans that I enlarged. I think, not sure, but I think those plans are 1:48. The Syren 1:64 is about 33". The plans look to me about 50".... any body have a idea? The real ship was 94'4" Length and 27' 9" beam. For a larger view click here! I might just have to break out the plans and see how much wood is in the closet. I will really enjoy this!
I will have to look closer tomorrow at the plans. I have the full set at 1:64, it would only take a trip to kinkos to get it to 1:48 if theses I have are not correct.
