    Hey guys,

wondering if any of you knew about barnstormer boats?

Buddy Friend said that he sent in a hull a while ago to be fiberglassed and hasn't heard from the guy or gotten his hull back, and i went to his website today and its down (temporarily or permanently i do not know...)

He has never replied to one of my emails, but he usually calls back if you leave a message.

a while ago i messaged him about sending him a hull and he replied rather quickly and seemed like a nice enough guy - but then after talking to Buddy and visiting his site again - which was down at the time - i was wondering if something happened or whatnot.

I know that I had seen something a while back about communication on the Subcommittee forum. Someone was asking about their order and he had had some sort of family emergency.
I have never used his services.

All these threads and references are 5-10 YEARS old, has anyone seen/heard anything since then? If not I'd take a cue from Elsa...

Guess I don't get the reference. I had completely forgotten about this ordeal until I was going through my rcuniverse account yesterday trying to find something else.

This brings up an interesting point ... there are many e-commerce sites for small hobby suppliers that are out of business yet the websites still accept payments and charge your account.

I believe I ordered some plans and never got them.. so I never order from a company that I am not sure is still in business, or has not done business with someone I know. I try to research as much as possible to find out if the vendor is active before I order. I found out about all the seedy action with Barnstormers after doing some research on the Prinz Eugen.. and did not order.

So new guys... ask around for references and be sure they are RECENT references.. before you jump in and buy something. Don't get BIT!

What plans were you looking for, Johnny? I might have a set I can send you.
