Uncut Prinz Eugen hull, beautiful hull for a gorgeous ship. Selling uncut w/ extra turrets & barbettes plus plans for $150. Hull is currently in Georgia, so if you're in that area you can pick it up w/o having to pay shipping!
For the curious, I eyeballed the hull, plans, and goodies this very morning, and the hull is glorious and untouched, the turrets very pretty, and the plans very good. This is a steal of a bargain. If someone hadn't thrown a PE at me the day before, I'd have bought it.
Hah, he almost sold it to me, but having one on my table in front of me at the time strengthened my willpower. It is a very pretty hull and the turrets and goodies are very nice, though. If you buy it, you can cut it out when you come to the Labor Day Battle; now that the dust collection system works, you won't get ANY dust on you Well, almost none
Update: PE is still for sale. Brian K was kind enough to post a pic on his Southeast Attack Squadron page
I'm trying to give it a good home. It may be a while before I can get it on water but I have scratch built a cannon. That's a start.
With the cost of materials (not to mention time involved), I find it's actually cheaper to buy guns from Battlers Connection or Strike Models. Especially if you can save on shipping by having them delivered to a battle...
I get the brass, brake line and o-rings for free. I won't have any money in my cannons. Otherwise I would have ordered some. The first cannon guts I have seen are the ones I made. It would have been easier to have one kit as a guide to reverse engineer but I just used what instructions I could find online and made it work. It was not to bad. The first cannon works really well off 150psi shop air. I'm still playing with it. I have not bought an air tank or solenoids yet but I'm guess 150 is 150 regardless of source.
Nothing to fancy. The bottom cap is just so I can use shop air. My compressor is set at 150 and I can dial down my blow gun, it works fine at lower pressures. I have been playing with two pistons one lets the air blow through the center but the pressure still pushes it up to interupt the next BB. It works well but it may push the next round back a bit. I'm still playing with the idea. The other is more typical, solid piston and the air comes from the back of the magazine tube. I still need some copper tubbing to make a permanent coil for the bb's. I have just been using brake line. The o ring came from my o ring kit and the barrel has a ferrel and ring to lock it in and seat against the o ring. Pretty simple, I just used what I had. I'm happy with it. It will go through both sides of a coke can so a little balsa should be easy.
For a scratch-built gun from someone brand new to hobby, I have to say, nice job! My one concern is that the "up tube" may need to be shorter for the gun to fit in PE.
