I came home today to find the Yamato hull kit that I recently ordered from Battler's Connection. One word, OUTSTANDING QUALITY!! Well, two words. The hull is thick and I would have to say, "second to none." I don't think that the ribs will have to be backed with wood. Hull is VERY clean. Plans are very nice. Top and side view. There is also a view of the hull from the waterline to the deck. Don't know the supplier but do know that they are from Japan. Main turrets are fiberglass, very strong and clean. Secondary turrets are molded and also very clean. A great foundation for the start of a monster. I will be shopping again at Battler's Connection. I plan to post pictures here on the R C Naval forum and the Yahoo Treaty site documenting the build. If you have any questions about the kit, please feel free to contact me.
That's a fine hull. Too bad they don't make the Superstructure anymore and the FG decks. It was excellent and sweet. Chris Osborne has that kit and it has performed magnificantly.
I know what you mean about the fiberglass superstructure. As far as FG decks, I am going to order it from McMaster Carr. Thanks for all the info on the props and motors for Yamato
