Are you doing that o-class BC? I really can't wait to see that out there. I think it's going to be very difficult for the Allies to deal with.
No, the O-class will be a scratch built hull, no time and too expensive for this year. I might have a recently refit Emile Bertin, or a Mogador, or something else.
BBS Fall Bash > > What a great time !! Eric , Scott, Dustin, Greg and I had a great time . > > ok Eric and Duckie got in friday and set up their ships in the dungeon to get last minute work done. I kept watching the weather was supposed to rain during the night and most of the day saturday with the tempature dropping. Ok up in the morning and it didnt look to bad but cold. We got out to the pond at 9:15 opened up the club house and ste up things and out comes the sun! The world team had experience with their ships while US had veteran BB with a rusty captain(Greg) and a veteran captain with a rookie cruiser ! War!! Oregon City went hunting the Brit BC,SoDak gingerly makes contact with the VU . Gunfire erupts between the 2 SoDak lands side mounts repeatedly ! But gets some shots back, crosses behind VU and takes some sterns. Oregon City not wanting to get side mounts uses bow gun for a long range hit on the Brit landing 3 befor the BC can change range , then as the BC comes in to chase, the cruiser whips the stern around to use its twins on the BC.VU snicks up and lands some side mounts and sterns on the cruiser as it trys to run out of range of the two. SoDak engages the Vu with sterns and forgets about the wash from the stern and bbs fly wildly off and the wrong directions as they bounce off the water. He learns fast and lands the next once. Oregon City gets turned and lands bow shots on the Vu while keeping an eye on the Brit who is now on the hunt for this pesky cruiser!Catches the cruiser in a turn and lashes the side with a few side mounts! OWCH ! Cruiser s turns to open range and fires twin sterns some bounce off hard area and I caught one in the left check and eric catches one litterrly in his hand as it rolls down his arm !! He announce I CAUGHT THAT ONE !! Hey Greg turn the pump on !! Sodak has settled a bit and looking low pump comes on and she comes back out.Orgeon City is pumping , VU is pumping and the Brit is pumping hmm looks like every one has a few holes , BBs are out time for 5 and the battle winds down. Back to the benchs , boy the water is cold ! Rearm and tall tales time !! Seems like we did one more battle before lunch, the reason I remember this is I caught some conversation between Greg and Erick as to finding out the weak points on the So Dak. Greg said something about only one or 2 of the triple sterns working, I went and checked it out and there was a problem that would need attention after lunch. Greg saaid something as far as a defective ship I told him it was the skipper !!Any way as we started out the So Dak fell in behind the Oregon City in a battle line. HMS Courageous made a hard left turn to bring her stern cannon to bare on the cruiser. Oregon City made a sharp right turn whipping the dual sterns around in to play firng 2 salvos, in the mean time SoDak slipped up on the other side and managed to get a sidemount on the BC. Vu came in trying to get SoDak and received some dual sterns ! SoDak broke off with the BC and truned on VU, unleashing some sidemount in to her. Oregon City made a right hand circle bringing the bow around to chase the BC and found the range and opened up. Hitting the BC 2 times .BC changed course and managed to get at this uppty cruiser and put a few sidemount hits in her bow. Vu did a cat and mouse game with SoDak each landing hits on the other, hey Greg turn the pump will you!! Oregon City is pumping and does some hard turns and backs up on the BC as she tries getting at SoDak again. Oregon City manages some long rang sterns that makes some good hits, Then the race was on as the BC tries tto catch the cruiser. Things wind down and we break for lunch. Dustin show s up and Ducky heads out to get some batteries for his receiver as the ones died.Oh Yes he made a trip backwards across the pond WOW ! Dustin put his new ship in the water and gave a show as to what under water farting would look like !! Really just his forward torp tubes Darn!! Any way back to war I had fixed the sterns , just needed a little adjustment to get the triples working again, and a way we went same teams and almost the same dances it seemed like the amount of holes and damages was about equal on both sides. OH OH Oreegon City suddenly was with out steering, then no forward or back , this doesnt look good I think I am about to get wet ! Right in the middle of the pond !! The guys try to push her in, good thing the pump is on as the HMS Courageous rams her trying to push her in, Dustin manages to get her in with his ship. Main battery power had gone out, so waited for the end and just swapped out battery. One thing I have to remember dont have same amount of battery as the BB note to self ! Ok one more battle for all the blood !! War this time the Us fleet did a hard turn and stopped with sterns pointing right at the others who was comiing in hot and heavy OOPS !! Triple and dual sterns hammered away !! wrong place to be guys! Hey Eric did you for get about not doing that ! And then it was a running gun battle all the way around SoDak against VU with the BC and cruiser picking at both and chaseing each other. Good times had by all , Greg what is that smile on your face ? Buddy
Sounds like I missed one heck of a battle. Can't wait to see the rest of Buddy's battle report.
