What are the common rules for Big Gun reguarding the ships that you build? As far as parts and such go and what you put in them.

That's a pretty broad question! Here are some examples:

    https://ntxbg.org/documents/NTXBG_Rules_of_Construction.pdf
    https://ntxbg.org/documents/NTXBG_Rules_of_Combat.pdf
    https://ntxbg.org/documents/NTXBG_Technical_Appendix.pdf

    http://mabg.org/rules/chapter02.html
    http://mabg.org/rules/chapter03.html

If you have some more specific questions, you might get more specific answers.

Where are you located? Different clubs have different rules. If you are in California, and would be battling primarily with WWCC, you will ant to look up their rules. Other areas, other clubs, sometimes different rules.
The best advice I have ever seen is to find the closest local club (though it may be a couple of hundred miles or more), and get to one of their battles and/or build sessions if you can. In Big Gun, there is now an alternative to that, once a year, if you have NO club close - NABGO (the North American Big Gun Open) - a week of shipyard activith and battling. Usually the weekend or so after July 4th. You will learn a lot, and there are always surpises in store.
NABGO, by the way, operates under the NTXBG ruleset.
    Cheers,

I'm located in Phoenix, Arizona so I will have to travel if I want to participate in any battles.

Or, as another option, start a new club! I know there have been some other interested parties in Arizona, possibly in the Phoenix area.
Every club that's currently in existence was once started from nothing. There's no reason you (& maybe some others) couldn't do the same in Phoenix.

You have a good point. I contacted all of the members of this forum and the only one I get a reply from said he was not in the hobby anymore. Its going to take me at least until about December to get the funds for my ship and longer to build. I have time to see if more people from Arizona sign up here.

If all else fails, you could try to build two smaller, cheaper ships and find a friend. Just battle each other to work on your skills and have fun. Maybe that will attract more people as well.

    Captain Eric.

Hello to you. Could it be possible you could get to L.A. area in November. A group of us from Northern California WWCC are going down to the Ontario area to help the old South Coast Battle Group to give them a shot in the arm to get them going again. We also have made contact with SCRAPS a Fast gun group to join us. The invitation would be for you and anyone else you could muster. As of this post about 10 are making the trek. The date is November 14-15. Trying to make it two days. If interested let me know on this thread and we will talk some more.
