    I'm not really sure how this will protect tank "treads"? J/K
    I was looking for the copy I downloaded a few days ago and I deleted it by accident because, the filename made me think it was something else.

    That's threads not treads. Actually, when I have dropped a tank it tends to damage the seal surface at the top of the valve, not necessarily the threads. The bottle cap will protect the entire top of the valve.
