Statesboro, GA, about 30-45 minutes from Savannah, depending on how fast one drives in a 70mph zone. Got 4 people coming so far, and Brian K is recruiting at the university.

It's cool to be a tenured professor so you can bring your RC boats into chemistry class and give a spiel :)

I wish I could take you up on your offer, but CA -> GA and back is a long drive. It's only four letters, but a whole lot more miles...

Yeah, alphabetically, we're right there. Darn that Geography! We're up to 5 people now, when we get closer, I'll buy the food :) I need to find the dang digital camera! Two of us have RC combat tanks that we need to get video of driving around so we can get our hull numbers :) Oh, yeah, pics of the build&bull would be nice, too :)

And, Martin Helsing is bringing me a plug for the USS Gearing, and one for the Italian cruiser Monteccucoli. The full Monte is going to get a mold made, and quickly :) Martin does good hull work.

RC combat tanks? Are those the 1/6 scale paintball tanks? Or are they 1/16 Tamiya tanks with the TBU or Hen Long airsoft tanks? I try to keep track of all things related to RC combat ;)

Gascan, those are the 1/6 scale paintball tanks :)

It IS almost time for the b&b... I'm doing reasonably well recovering from surgery and should be 100% by then! Hope I get my tank rolling in amongst actual work! I'm not allowed to work in the shop till Monday, and heavy work not till Saturday. But it's gonna be a blast!

It was mostly boats. A few of us also drive 1/6 scale tanks around, armed with paintball markers. There's a fair bit of overlap between the two hobbies.

Lots of fun was had! We grilled burgers and dogs and worked on boats for several hours. Pete D from Savannah brought a TV/DVD combo and we watched battling movies, and John Wayne's Operation Pacific. Pete brought that out of respect for my past in subs :) We also put Brian's I-boat project in the test basin and got her ballasted!

Cool, Bobo! I am closest to finishing an FT-17 (aka US Six-ton Tank, first tank used by the US Army)... It's kind of strange, but the tracks are on separate sponsons out from the hull, kind of interesting to roll a sponson around on the floor making vroom noises (until the body is done :)

With the start of Artwerks, I haven't been working on the tank as much (obviously), but I plan to make a battle up in MD or VA next spring sometime. Martin Helsing has an LVT-4 running and he's going to convoy up with me :)
