Hey guys I know it is early but what does everyone think to holding Canats in Aug next year the available dates are Aug 1-17 as Craig has school and cannot take any time off. The thought going around is to hold a three day event with a fourth for any tweeking for boats that may need it. Craig and myself are going to put a proposal together for the city and maybe able to get the event funding. The other thing we are going to do is to invite the O.A.F and we are going to try and get a rate for hotels so people will have a better place to stay next year. It is early in the plannig stages but we need to get some feedback from everyone who was there last year.
I don't know about that date at this time as it is early. I am also planning to go to the NATS in the U.S. so I don't have dates for that either yet. As of now a 3 day weekend works for me. Getting some members of the OAF be nice too. Still very early in the stages.
That is a super idea. We would come up for that and maybe a few days earlier. As far as the OAF and maybe some of our friends from down south, that would be fantastic too. As with everyone else the earlier we have some dates the better. I should have no prob getting time off.
I think it's extremely premature to make any concrete plans. The only thing we know for sure right now is that I am unable to go to anything longer that 12 on Fridays to Monday morning 8 am, for the next two years, with the exception of August 1-17 which is my summer break. Ok. When we have more info we can start making decisions for here. I don't want this to become a Nats versus CANNATS thing, and I know it might be good to build on the momentum of a great weekend, but, for now I will reopen the CANNATS X thread for continued pics and posts, share your favorite memory type thing. Let's finish going over the positives and what can be improved for next year. Let everyone make the plans they want to make and know that sometime in the first two weeks of August, we can POSSIBLY have an event. There is no reason for CANNATS not to be held in Halifax, Greenwood, St.John or St. John's.... we have a lot of things to consider and most come together as a group to decide for next year. I am in favor of everyone having a say, and think that through e-mail and phone conversations it would best suit our needs for hammering out next year's schedule. A lot can happen between now and then and let's have these starting conversations off list first. With that in mind, let's pipe this one down for now. Put er in neutral and I'll start the ball rolling by sending out an e-mail. We can handle things more clearly with everyone involved. Locking her up for now, will revisit later.
