There are many types of Electronic Speed Controllers on the market, we want ESC capable of going forward and reverse at the same speeds and to move quickly between the two, we also want ESC that are compatable with our motors, brushed or brushless and if possible to be waterproof? What have some of you captains found to be the better ESC out there on the market? What is a good amp rating for the ESC to have considering your powering your ship with two 6 volt batteries in parallel?

The amp rating depends on your motors. Some motors draw more current, and some draw less. What motors are you using?

Figure using two motors from Battlers Connection. Two 6-12 volt Motors (550)Drive. Are there better performing motors out there that I could use and where could I pick them up?
