    Welcome Fenrir! I'm not sure about Michigan, but there's a bunch of active people in Ohio that meet regularly around Dayton. I'll let some of them chime in about what may be closer to you (I'm in California so don't know all of those clubs too well).

    Welcome Fenrir;
    On this web site, Click on the "Members" button. Type in "Michigan" next to where it states "all fields" and then click on search. 30 names will pop up for you. Rather yours, plus 29 others.
    I hope that some of them are near you.

    Hope this helps.

    Welcome to the hobby, and this site Fenrir.
    There quite a few folks down here in Ohio.
    Fast-gun, Treaty, and Battlestations.
    The fast-gunners over near Lansing may be closest to you.
    Or perhaps some of the big-gun folks up in Michigan.
    Your best bet is to try to hook up with the folks that are closest to you
    so that you can meet them, and see the boats.
    Look around at the various formats, and then decide which boat you want to
    build, and in which format.
    Travel is part of the hobby (unless you have your own battle site). But one might
    not want to travel long distances all of the time. So having a boat that can battle in
    the closest group (even if it isn't your prefered format), is perhaps a good idea.
    Happy hunting.
