Hi guys, it's been a while. Work has been crazy since one of the other night shift monitor techs left abruptly, and I've been straining to pick up the slack. So no weekends will be off for a long time, which means no battles, either. Added to that, the first Alaska hull decided that wax and/or PVA be damned, it was going to do some damage to the mold in places. And the vitriol on various mailing lists (even ones I'm not participating in, just reading) really made me question the value of the hobby in my life when I have enough stress in the hospital. So I had a difficult period and really lacked energy and/or motivation to go out to the shop. Brian K and my wife got me to do a little work for myself, and I have found the time to get the Kent hull done for the MWC Nats (one of the prizes they're awarding), and I will start working on repairing the Alaska mold, which has 3 small areas that got roughed up (hull stuck to mold in 2"x3" patches, resulting in surface damage to a depth of 1/32"). So I'm edging back in, slowly, and I'm not reading any mail lists from the boat hobby, if only for my own peace of mind. If you want to get ahold of me, you can post on the forums here, or send me a pm. I started replying to the ones I've received, so if you haven't gotten a reply, and I don't get one to you in a day or two, then please send it again. Sorry. (Greg, I will answer yours from home, I have some pics to email that aren't here at work). The 2 people who have stuff to be shipped will receive tracking numbers on Monday (A whole day off, whatever shall I do?) Have a good one, Tugs
Welcome back Tugboat! Hope you'll find more time for the hobby and fun instead of work and stress. Vitriol seems to have ceased (at least in the north) since the split of NABS into the NA Battle Squadron and the NA Treaty Combat Fleet. The rift was mainly between long term and more recent members, so the long-termers decided to leave and try a different type of R/C naval combat. Both groups seem happy with the arrangement and are back to enjoying the hobby, building models and planning the R/C naval battles. Bob
Hey Tug Glad to hear you are back. Sorry to hear about all the stress and stuff,it takes you away from things you enjoy and the people to like to be around.
work can do that to you but remember You're not drunk if you can lie on the floor without hanging on. We are happy to see you back bro glad all is well hang in there it could be worst well you know the rest of the story []
It will be good to have you back. Drop me a line sometime when you have a day off and want to chat -Greg
Hello Tugboat, One of the reasons I joined this site was to find out more about the RC-Artwerks site of yours. Several of the hulls are said to be available by Fall 2007 or Spring 2008--what's the status of these? The ones I've had my eye on are the T-103 transport and the Seydlitz. Thanks, Jeff
Time schedule is obviously thrown off a little; The Alaska mold is fixed and I am making hulls to fill orders, I will post here when I am ready for new orders. Alaska main turret mold is done. T-103 is still a plug in progress. Seydlitz is not ready yet. I do know someone has a Seydlitz mold, I forget who it is or I'd refer you to him. The Leander is being prepped for mold-making by Brian Koehler (he makes most of the fancy turrets for BC, under the tradename Grey Wolf Squadron). Agano (2.5 unit Japanese CL) is still a plug in progress.
Tugboat, great news, looking forward to placing an order. Do you have any pictures of the hull? Price for main turrets? Jason
David Tuttle of the IRCWCC has a Seydlitz mold made by Ralph Coles. Ive seen the hulls, they are very nice.
