Does one make an indentation in the ribs so that the penetrable area/armor belt is flush with the rest of the hull skin?
To get a stringer, the armor belt must produce a visible change in the hull shape, so it would likely be flush with the hull below the stringer, but not flush with an indented area above it (like where the hull steps back above the armor belt).
I was just curious. I'm going to stick with cruisers so won't have to worry about armor thicker that fast gun style.
