Ok, before you say go search...... I have... I am even more confused than before. (That doesnt take much these days) ;)

I have a set of Model Shipways plans for constitution at 1:76.8
    I need of course 1:48
At the main website (shutdown because of govnt shutdown:eek:) site for the ship they state the measurements as follows..
304' Bowspririt to Spanker (Thats from tip of bow spirit to tip of Spanker, easy measurement)
207' Billet head to Taffrail (what is the taffrail?)
    175' waterline

I want to insure the Kinkos gets this right as the darn copies cost a fortune. o_O If I want to use the 207' Billet Head to Taffrail measurement, where do I measure from and to where? I know this is a top deck measurement and the Billet Head is the bow, so I am asuming I measure from where the Bowspirit leaves the bow to back at the very stern rail of the ship? What does this measurement need to be?
My calculations have it at 51 3/4" and beam at 10 7/8" I want to make sure I am measureing at the right places..

Since you have a waterline measurement, and there's no mistaking where that is on the drawing, I'd go with that for my reference.

175' = 43.75" in 1:48.... so look at your drawing and blow them up until the waterline measures 43 3/4 inches & you're golden.
