what is a good ship that can be buildelt as a convoy ship and then change the deck to be a warship. and is there one that can go Axis/Allied with at least 3 guns. so you can get like 4 ships in 1

BC's Cleveland hull... switch out the combat deck for a carrier deck (CVL), and presumably have a model preset on your radio for the carrier that slows down the ESC without any time wasted lakeside. For honesty's sake, have quick disconnects on the pump, so if you run it as a pure convoy no one can complain, and if you run it as a Q-ship, no one will know it's still hooked up :)

Or, if you're a noble warrior of the Empire of Japan, Mogami was converted to a seaplane carrier at some point.
Or, if you're a British Tar, HMS Furious was converted to a flush-deck carrier.
Or, if you're a Teutonic knight of the Kriegsmarine, Bismarck was converted to a submarine at one point. (hehe)

EJ, I forget which club you're building for... does it allow hypotheticals or no? The German Hipper-class cruiser Seydlitz was in the midst of conversion to CV when work was stopped by materials shortage. Note that the hull was launched; in some rule sets, that's significant (like in Battlestations where we have a 'must have hit the water' rule). You could build a Hipper class cruiser and then build a flight deck that replaces the cruiser decks for convoy purposes.

I didn't list the Hood as a convserion because she completely lost hull integrity; at least the Biz went down more or less in one piece until it hit bottom.

HMS Canada. 5.5 units, 26 seconds. Hull is the same as the carrier HMS Eagle. After WW1, the ship was delivered to Chile (Almirante Cochrane) who originally ordered it. Does Chile count as a neutral? If so, that meets ALL your requirements...3-4 guns, battleship/convoy and Axis/Allied.

What's the MWC ruling on ships that started conversion but didn't finish? No joy? I battle MWC but have never thought about that one.

I believe the "As originally built" clause is invoked for conversions. One could build the Courageous as a BC, add the flight deck and she's still 4(?) units...but where are the main armament locations, on the deck somewhere I think? Canada/Eagle switchero would be neat, but making a 34 sec convoy ship into a 26sec battleship would be a bit of a trick. Do-able, but not perfect?

As the builder of the Courageous and Furious battlecruiser hull molds I can advise that you couldn't just switch their decks and make them into the carrier version. Their hulls were built up many feet higher before the flight deck was added and modified in other ways (such as larger bulges and raised quarterdecks). A complex upper hull would have to be added to convert them, causing problems with the construction rules (i.e. stringers).
