Probably not. The electronics from a cheap RC tank will have neither the range nor the performance to function in RC naval combat, and will not hold up under the abuse we put our gear through. The more advanced electronics for RC tanks are vastly more expensive than a similarly capable standard hobby radio. In short, better to buy the right parts for the right job, and get a standard hobby radio with 4 or 6 channels.
Good thing is that you do not need the radio until after the ship is mostly built. After all, one cannot float a radio without a ship. Heh. I've seen some good things about the Chinese Topcare brand radio. It is low cost and seems to be reliable. I don't have a link for one, but it should be Googlefu'd easily.
well id kinda like 2 cause i dont wanna build a ship and not have money for electronics and im looking at an xbox 360
Buy the Xbox 360 and play. Then read these Forums, and plan on what you want to build. Then you can choose to either type on these forums or play Xbox.
