Steve Hill actually makes a hull for this ship. But no idea on rudders.

    They are single rudder ships.

I know I've got a set of plans for Fiji... It is single rudder. Let me search around for a bit and I'll get a set to you :)

Hmmm... no luck yet on Fiji, but a quick search did find plans for the C-class...

tug, are there any plans you dont have? I know i would like some Graf spee plans, along with a hull from Ralph coles, and maybe a million dollars, maybe a pony too.

well, kind of what I am looking for is a relatively wide light cruiser that is class 2 in IRC with 2.5 units and dual rudders. The Fiji looked interesting due to width...

I have a Karlsruhe, but she has an odd off-center turret layout for my evil schemes....

    any ideas folks?

They are single rudder ships, although 3 shaft. I dont think you are going to find a 2.5 unit ship with twin rudders. I know of some destroyers that had twin rudders but none with twins. IIRC, the russian cruisers of the Krasni Krim/Chervona Ukraina type and Krasni Kavkaz had dual INLINE rudders to get bonus rudder area. Maybe some of the French CLs? I think those would probably be your only hope.

The best turners are going to be the Leipzig/Nurnburg types and the Dutch Java class with single rudder/3shafts.

Fiji's could still be a nice ship. What i'd really like to see is someone who can split a 2.5 unit ship into a 1/2 unit pump and 4 seperate guns.

Ah, I was under the impression the K's were single rudder ships. I always wondered why BC built them over the Nurnburg or Leipzig.

I think I may just have to get creative with the karlsruhe... at 2.5" diameter, the tripples I am working on may just barely be small enough to fit with enough room for 1/2 unit magazines... but we will see. the breech will have to be creative.

sorry, massive brain fart day. The K's are single rudder. Too many years on the shelf as a gunnery target and I just recalled wrong.

I make hulls for the dual in-line rudder Profintern/Krasni Krim but it's a relatively narrow hull.

For what it sounds like you are trying to do Greg, I think the Nurnburg is a very solid candidate. She's single rudder but 3 shaft, so with a powered center shaft you should have excellent maneuverability. She's also got a little more room inside and displacement to play with then the K's do, and of course the same triple 5.9" turrets.

Taubmans lists a set for $29.50 under the rc combat plans section.
