    Hi all, quick question,

Can a SMAV-3 and SMTV-3 be used on a 1 gun fast gun system?

    Thanks in advanced

It could, but there are two things to be aware of:
    1) Make sure to use the NC port (normally closed)
    2) It's only rated for 100psig, so it wouldn't be safe at higher pressures.

    Hi Tuggy,

Ya just wondering as I bought some gun/co2 equipment used, and there is a SMAV-3 and SMTV-3 included. It was originally a co2 system to feed a dual, BDE style, bb cannon and I was wondering if I could use the same setup, just with a BC single bb cannon.

I'm going to jump in here... I say try it b/c you already have it, but I'm willing to bet it will not work because of the flow rates. They are ~1.5scfm; in comparison, the "standard" KIP valve is over 9 scfm.

They probably would work for the big BDE guns b/c they are only used to pop the cork on that huge ball valve & let loose the accumulator... As such they don't need much flow rate at all, just pressure. A BC gun uses the valve directly & without higher flow rates, the shells will probably just fall out of the barrel.

    Thanks Justin,

I'm not at all familiar with Big Gun style cannon systems so wasn't really sure.I bought it mainly because it included a rock the boat regulator, capsule adapter,a few dozen capsules it also came with various hoses, fittings etc....

I don't think they'd be good for supplying the gas to the guns...but they might be able to turn on an actuator if you're doing triples or duals...or just want to put an actuator in to make stuff more complicated. I have the clippards part #'s and magazine and some old orders if you need to get some stuff, we can talk more sunday if you come out.

    Thanks Brechin,

I'm hoping to make it out on Sunday. Geez I feel like a rookie all over again(well technically I am)Honestly though I will admit I have no clue when it comes to some of this stuff,my rookie boat years ago was pretty much built by Curt Stokes and Peter Casey so I never had to learn a lot about it. And it's been a few years(7) since I've even been around these boats.

Being New TO R/C Combat, I'd Like To Know How To Build
Firing Main Guns. Specifically Utilizing 6mm or Smaller Plastic BB's. I Want To Be Able To Fire Onto A Stationary Target. ie. Shore Bombardment!!!
Is There A "How To "Site", I Need TO Go To Somewhere To Get Information? The Ship Will Be(1/48th Scale)Gearing Class Destroyer, All Fiberglass;(Superstructure And Decks 1/16" G-10 Sheet),I'd Like To Fabricate (3)Three Fully Capable DP 5" Main Guns (Trainable with Elevation).....And Firing!... Of Course I Realize, I Will Have To Make a Consession On The Gun Barrel's Size And Taper....This Will Be Okay ...Can Any Body Help Me Here Or Give Me A Place To Start?

PS. I Build 1/48 Scale R/C Submarines...........( My Web Site "NAVY YARD Submarines")
This Will Be My First Scale Surface Ship Combatant.....and I Want To Do This "Right" For
A Fellow Ship Modeler Who Cannot Do This Anymore......When Finished, I Promised I'd Name It After Him And Make Photos Or Video Of It for Him To See.

I'm Starting From A Bare Hull And One Drawing I'll Be Seeing For The First Time, This Sunday. All Suggestions Are Appreciated And Welcome.
