Not planning to shoot at it, maybe run it down at the coast and on my pond.

I'm thoroughly confused about what you have and what you're asking. Can you post some pictures and maybe explain your thoughts / question a little more?

Is it just a plastic model that you want to convert to r/c? Or is it already an r/c kit?

    Close.

You want the 'Direct Link' from the menu on the right, in this case: http://i1151.photobucket.com/albums/o623/daniel_dale1/078.jpg

Well, it should have instructions that came with it, what exactly do you need help with?

    The kit is balsa?

The instructions say to cut pieces out of balsa?

Balsa has nothing to do with any of this but because we sheet our ships wit hbalsa you're thinking this little model should be too?

I'm completely confused about what stage you're at and what you need help with.

dman, unfortunately, try as we may, we're not mind-readers, nor do we know everything about everything.
We don't know anything about your kit other than the picture you've shown us of the box.
We don't know what is inside the box, we dont know what the instructions say, we don't know if it even has instructions.
If you want helpful responses, you have to provide some helpful basis for us to answer them on..
