Reading through some old posts, I found one that suggested you could use fleece instead of fiberglass to make a non-wooden hull. Instead of making a whole plug, the ribs are cut out and assembled, and then the fleece is tightly stretched across the hull and stapled to the ribs. After it's stapled, you soak the fleece in epoxy. Once it's dry, the staples are removed and the fleece comes of the frames, and you now have a hull made of fleece that you can add fiberglass to for strength. I know Justin tried it on his New Jersey with pretty good success, his bow sagged a bit. I'm wondering if anyone else has tried it, and how it turned out for them.
