Silly question ... I know that basically the gearing was a stretched fletcher. From a modeling stand point for the hull, would just stretching in the center be fine? or was there some profile changes too?

I can find different shots for the top config changes, but nothing concrete at the moment if theres a profile difference in the hull other then the "lengthened admidships"

14 feet added, sumner is basically a fletcher with 11 more inches of beam.

so sumner class .. add 14 feet in center... hull wise .... change top as per gearing pictures/drawings...

I could find lots of top arrangement comparisons/pictures... just nothing concrete on hull/profile other then it was stretched admidships (and that most consider it just a stretched and refit fletcher )

Sumner class, basically the same as the Fletcher in our hobby, but you get two rudders.
Gearing is an improved Sumner, they added 14 feet between the stacks.
Don't build any of these ships in the near future, I think you will be pleasantly surprised with a couple of offerings.
