For Sale: wood hull USS Omaha light cruiser hull. I got it in trade, it was built by Mike Mangus. It does not have decks, but does have water channelling. I would use 1/32" G10 fiberglass board for the decks. Some wood could stand to be removed from the caprail area to lighten the ship. It's a strong hull and it would not be hard to lighten and build to a fine light cruiser, but I have way too many hulls in the shop, and money is getting tight with govt furloughs coming. $100 plus shipping.

The build thread for this hull is at www.rcnavalcombat.com/Forum/tabid/5...fault.aspx
Note that the hull does not have to be lightened. It will float at the required waterline just fine with the right selection of componants. Heck, probably easier now to build it even lighter with the use of lithium cells and brushless tech. :)
I really need to finish the other two hulls sitting in the shop. Heh.

RE: FOR SALE: USS Omaha (CL) wood hull That is how I got it, no decks.

If it doesn't sell, I'll build it and sell it to someone wanting a more complete ship, just using G10 decks.

What plans did Mike make the hulls from? I want to match the super structure from the right plan set. :)

I think BDE plans, that's what came with the boat, along with a set of what looks like NAVSHIPS drawings of the SS levels. The plans are yours along with the boat, of course.

The hulls were built from a mix of plans. BDE used mostly, but with hull sections from a more accurate plan set. The BDE didn't have the right hull shape.
