Iv'e got a Futaba 7c 2.4ghz air\heli mode 2 transmitter that I would like to convert to surface\combat use. I don't think I want to try the push button thing (maybe buy a cheap china knockoff for that) but I would like to remove the ratchet and add a spring to the left hand jojstick. Anyone have any experiance with this conversion? Any advice?
    Thanks
    Barry

Never mind, I figured it out. I scavanged the spring, adjuster and arm from an ancient FG gold series xmitter. There a bit of slop around neutral but I can adjust for that. Now I have both sticks spring loaded and returning to center.
    Thanks anyway

The big deal for converting to surface use is changing the frequency to a surface band. Radio South can do the conversion, which is not a trivial conversion. You can live in the gray area legally speaking while playing on your own, but most of the clubs require that you use a ground-legal radio.
