Gato class sub ship plans???

    does any one have plans that have the ribs laid out for the Gato class submarine or any American ship???
    Im building from wood so I need plans of the ribs.

    I have them, with the downside that it's only a frames drawing, so you'll have to figure out where the frames go. If it was me, I'd use the width to get them lined up where they go on a plan view of the ship.
    Send me an email and I'll attach the file, it's not very big (and neither is the Gato!). You building one in 1/144?

    Floating Drydock has the best Gato plans. They have copies of the actual builders prints, including hull stations.

    I have plans for the USS South Dakota, Lexington, Essex and the USS Iowa. All have hull lines ( aka ribs :) ). I also have a really nice set of USS Arizona plans but they are copyright. :(

    All of those are not scaled, but if I have time I might be able to scale them for you, if you're interested that is.

    How does a gun on a sub work...? Wouldn't the beral fill with water when the sub submerges?

    I don't think water going down the barrel would be too much of a problem, seeing that none of the water would be able to leak into the sub.

    You will blow the water overboard when you fire, anyway :) And the water will NOT go any further than the cannon.

    ok thanks... does any one else have plans for the 1944 Gato class sub?
