hey everyone im a new member starting in australia with the canberra battle group for anyone in aust.
i am 2 years into my systems engineering degree at the ANU. I currently have lots of spare time (study is for fools) and lots of spare money (i dont have to pay for much). im building a HMS Nelson, Liked the layout i like odd mishaped things and cannons on the back are for running away i dont plan on doing that ever.
anyway i would like to appologise in advance for all the stupid questions i ask. if my degree tought me anything it is always ask the people who have done it first (dont reinvent the wheel just repakage and resell it).
    thanks for all your help
    regards
    daniel squires

    Hi Daniel and welcome aboard!

I'm just getting started too, having attended two meets so far and am
    still building my first ships:

HMS Dreadnaught (refurbishing a used one I bought locally)
    and
a County-class heavy cruiser (bare fiberglass hull).

They'll be built for fast-gun/Treaty rules.

What rules set does your local club use?

    Mack

    Welcome!

Good to have another rookie around. At least we can split the stupid questions between us.

    HMS Nelson...Running away...at 23 knots...Probably not a great option anyway.[;)]

    Good Hunting!

Nelson class gets 24 knots, our min speed for warships. Here's hoping you get your ship operational soon. I'll be bringing my Rodney along in January so if we end up on the same side we might be able to use our combined 18 gun broadside to terrorise merchants....or anything else we can catch.
