I lurked around the forums but couldn't find any set of rules or build guidelines. I'd just like to know what specs I can build a ship to, whether it has to be modeled after a real ship or a design that I come up with can be used. Any links to rules would be helpful.
Different rulesets have different construction rules. I battle under the Model Warship Combat rules (www.mwci.org). Under MWCI you can only use ships that were _launched_ between 1905 and 1946 (i.e. ships that actualy hit the water). I believe the Washington Treaty rules and Big Gun allow you to use ships that were laid down but perhaps never completed (which allows you to use ships that construction was started on but were never completed for one reason or another). I am not aware of any rules that allow you to design your own ship. Some helpful links would include: www.mwci.org - Model Warship Combat Inc www.ircwcc.org - International R/C Warship Combat Club, Inc www.rcwarships.com/rcwarships/homeports.html - Big Gun Portal http://groups.yahoo.com/group/TreatyCombat/ - Washington Treaty Rules Hope these help
Excellent. Only 3.5 hours away. When I get my cruiser done that is a convenient distance. Lack of opponents has been what has slowed down my construction times. James
James, I would be happy to have My Scharny chase your cruiser around. Wade Koehn is actualy in New Orleans and he is a vetran battler with a number of ships. He is actualy working on getting a pond together. There is also a large group of folks in Houston that get together as well. As far as lack of opponents do not let that slow you down. Unless you live in Florida, battling will generaly require a roadtrip. There will hopefuly be a battle in Houston in the spring, and they have battles planned in Orlando in Feb and March, and Savannah in April. I am hoping there is enough interest in putting together a June battle in Atlanta as well. Good luck with your ship,
