Just picked up this book since it covered the bayern, konig, and kaiser classes. was ~12$ at amazon. I was unaware that the bayern carried torpedo's (that is the one thing I learned from this book).. The book has some interesting pictures, most of which I have seen before and downloaded online.. There is one slightly interesting cut away view of a kaiser class vessel. That being said, unless you have 12$ burning a hole in your pocket, you can get just about everything picture wise on these ships online for free with a little google-fu. The little morcels of good information do not suffice to make this 47 page pamphlet (I hesitate to call it a book) worth the money.

Find it used if you really want it, or borrow it from the library/other boat guys.

Agreed it doesn't add much picture wise to a quick internet search. But if all you want is a brief overview of the late Imperial German dreadnoughts then it succeeds there. Like all Vanguard books don't expect much and you won't get too disappointed.

It was really too bad, their book on the german light cruisers was much, much better than this.

I also bought this book because I needed something cheap to get my order over the free shipping limit. I've bought a few of the naval books from this publisher and have found them all mediocre at best.
