    Good news, true believers!!!

I saw that one of my favorite plans sources, Profile Morskie, is offering paper plans in several scales (among them 1:96!). I contacted Mr. Slawomir Brzezinski, who is the guy who IS Profile Morskie, and told him of the wonderful people who battle RC warships in 1/144, and asked if he could think about making them available in that scale.

I got a reply email in 4 hours, letting me know that he thought it was a great idea and that he'd already added the option to the website! At present they have Warspite and USS Helena (a Baltimore-class CA) on paper. If you're thinking about building one of them, please buy the plans from PM, because they are great plans, and it'll make them want to make more of their plans available on paper in our scale

I have taken the first step, and bought Helena plans in 1/96 for my Battlestations! build.

I got the same email from him as well, very good news indeed. I hope he does the same for his Swiftsure plans also (and add in a few frames ;).

    Tug,

Sorry, but the USS Helena (CL-50) is a St. Louis Class light cruiser, not a Baltimore class heavy cruiser...

But this is definitely great news!

What about USS Helena CA 75? If it's not a Baltimore class cruiser I need to get it off my instructions.

The Helena plans on the Profile Morskie website clearly say "Light Cruiser".

    Sorry,

Ah, just re-read Mark's post and realized my last post didn't answer Mark's question.
There where two US cruisers in WWII named USS Helena. The first was the St Louis class light cruiser, the second was the Baltimore class heavy cruiser. The plans on the Profile Morskie website are for the light cruiser Helena.

I still like the idea of having 2 cruisers in the Statesboro fleet. Close in size, armament is different, but the guts should be largely the same. Of course, I still have a Takao to build after the Macon!
