Just wanted to say hi iam jason best iam a aussie born and breed.
my mate call me besty. New comer too the sport i will be big gun class as that is the only format supported here. i have decided on my first 2 builds. first one is a cv the uss midway from dreadnought hulls. what can i say i have too the local guys. my question are power options obvious i need a esc. and 2 rudder set ups i wanna steer clear of any gearex option i like stocko set up on the mo with levers ect is it posiable with that cv.
And number 2 is the iowa and thus the drama unfolds. i have had a few calls too steven from strike models and he is prepareinga basic hull deck and super structure as well as power ect. But no skegs on the mold which scares the bejesus out of me. As oppsed too ralph cole who has them molded into the hul already. Just wanting you guys oppion on who kit is more user friendly for the rookie builder.
PS sorry bout sthe 3am phone call steven he is a champion wakes up and takes a order from a australian at that hour of the morning time zones are a pain. thanks in advance for your responses
    cheers besty

    Besty,

You're forgiven. Stephen has a feature on his phone that catches most of those odd-hour calls and puts them to voicemail, but there was something extra with your call and it was put through. For future reference, here's an easy time zone converter. =] http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converter.html (we're in the U.S.A. Washington Seattle time zone).

Best of luck on your builds!

Welcome to the hobby, Besty! No fears on the skegs, they're pretty straightforward. When you get to that point, I'm sure someone will have some pics and some guidance for you! I don't know if Ralph C has any Iowa hulls at the moment, and it's the middle of winter in the Great White North, so if he has to make one, it'll likely be a few months off. They are very pretty hulls, though! I had one in my shop until a mate made me an offer I couldn't refuse.

Thanks guys and tug a pleasure too meet you been reading your threads everywhere. Too be honest i was defiantily leaning towards strike models kit as too how it is layed out and he happened too have a stronger reinforced hull there for me which would cut down on reinforcening the ribs. Jusr wanted too get a feel of the community. Testing the waters for australia. No one here really uses the american hull and in battle ships are designed for abuse i figure get it from the people which more experience. Anways thanks and nice too meet you

    Hi Besty.
Your nearest actual group is TONE at Armidale where, co-incidentally, there will be a National battle on thje Australia Day weekend. Your drive there (about 71/2 hours) from Hervey Bay will be about the same as ours for the Southern suburbs of Sydney.
If you send me a PM with your email address I will send you all the info.

    Regards,
