Hello all I am new to the hobby and looking forward to building my first ship and battling.

Home Port: Long Island way out on Long Island, NY
First Ship: Von Der Tann (From BC)
Format: Fast Gun but big gun 1/72 looks awesome (A Schnellboot someday)

I will be checking out a NYBG battle on 10/13

It has decent sized rudders, more importantly it has two of them, when I tested mine it could turn in a circle with the axis of rotation behind the bow, it didnt do it very fast but it would do it. Its a great little slugger boat, im actually planning a build for a second one and scratch building it since ive always wanted to do that and I like this boat. It can take a fair amount of damage and dish it out too, just dont go to the races with it.

I think I will scratch build my next one but I thought it would be best on the first go around to get things going quicker.

Although I am looking to get the T-103 Fast Transport and LST hulls from tugboat to build so my son can run some convoy duty.

I am looking forward to checking out the battle in Esopus next week so I can see how people set things up inside and especially how the cannon controls work.

    Thanks,
    Again

Hint: take lots of photos, and if you have the equipment video the internals of as many ships as you can. Ask questions, but remember, no one answer is the absolute truth.
