I am having trouble getting my guns to fire a bb every time I activate my seloniods. is this common? I am trying to rework my magazines so they are mostly feeding downwards to the breach but hard to do with not alot of clearance. any Ideas. it seams some bbs feed real easy and some dont. is there a beter brand of bb to buy? thanks
You may have them over tweaked or there could be a bind in them that is not allowing them to fire. I am still learning to tweak my guns and know last battle I was in I was facing leaks and over tweaking issues that caused my guns to not fire every time.
I picked up some cannons made by a gentleman out in Ohio, and when I got the cannon out of the box, I noticed he had attached a magnet on the elbow where the magazine attaches to the rest of the cannon. It should help pull the BBs in there and help them feed. I've never test fired any of those cannons, but the magnet idea fascinates me to help the BBs feed. Might be worth trying in your case. I can't guarantee it will work, but if it doesn't you're not really out much!
They might be over tweaked. Try untweaking to see if you get one for each fire. You might have a tight spot in the magazine. Make sure the bbs roll free. Try and find the tight spot, at a bend, and gently use a plyers to round it back into shape. You should have a 15 deg down bend in the last couple inches of the mag to the breach. Helps the bbs get on top of the piston. You could have a piston that is a little too high. Take the mag off and look into the breach. Might need to shave it down a little.
Bob, The bottom of the breach / where the supply line enters from the selonoid was glued shut on a couple of the guns. should they all be glued?
I put a little CA glue on all of them to keep the cap air tight. I thought I did it to all the guns the day we tested in Ron's shop. That tubing is 1/4" copper. Like you'd use for connecting the water to your fridge.
