I think Strike sells a manual on how to do it, and I have seen some online but I can't remember where.

If you want to build big gun, start here. These are the original JC White plans for big gun rotates IIRC.
That said, these require lathe and mill work.
Another option is to have fixed guns. For BB caliber weapons, Standard fast gun cannons work just fine and can be purchased. Larger caliber fixed cannons can utilize the Arizona design. Info on that can be found here in the knowledge base. Click on members up above and dive into the articles. You may have to click around a bit, but the data is there.
A third option, since you are close to the NTXBG is to see if anyone has any for sale locally.

I found this PDF file with some big gun plans. I not too familiar with big gun cannons, so I'm not too sure what what each piece does. :)
If somebody could explain what they do, I would appreciate it.

Those are some patterns for prototype laser cut guns built by Kotori. I would love an update on whether they worked, but you shouldn't use them as a pattern for building your own guns, beacuse they aren't a tested design. Did you read the whole thread? (http://rcnavalcombat.com/Forum/tabid/58/aff/535/aft/441794/afv/topic/Default.aspx) There are some photographs which will help you understand how they go together, and some links to other information, e.g.

[rant]Why when gun availability is such a problem in this hobby (the Big Gun part anyway) is there not a freely available set of proven plans for guns?[/rant] *edit* oops editor swallowed my 'rant' tags.

Have to agree with you Tom. Battlestations is fighting the same battle in trying to get cannons for their 1/96 scale ships. Strike is working on a solution. Another modeler is also working on a solution.

I have a question on those guns of Kotori's. The layer below the ramps that supplies the Co2 to the magazine, won't the BB fall into that and cause problems with reloading?

My Battlestations solution is little boats with small guns anyway. :D

Where......? There is a piece that holds the ball bearing until it is fired, but nothing under the rest of the ramp.

I'm a bit thick sometimes, but I see what you mean. It looks like the gap isn't big enough for them to fall through.

I reread Kotori's thread and a saw that he cut a lexan circle to keep the BB from falling into the manifold. I guess that answers my question. :)
I wish Kotori could give us an update on how those guns turned out.

@Beav - Kotori is currently going thru one of the more difficult training pipelines in the US Navy, that which leads to becoming a Naval Nuclear Operator. His spare time is measured in milliseconds :) Ask me how I know :)
