hello guys i just recently saw this and got interested in it looks pretty great im hoping to star on soon and would appreciate on witch on i should start with. i havent found any clubs in my area so not really worried about combat but would like to have them install regardless. i have found one uss porter the scale is 1/192. is this a good one for starters?
here are a couple links to check out: http://www.modelwarshipcombat.com/index.shtml http://www.ircwcc.org/ U can find all kinds of good info from both sites but they Build in 144th scale. If u are scratch building your ship Here is a Great thread By Tugboat. http://www.rcnavalcombat.com/Forum/tabid/58/aff/566/aft/441667/afv/topic/Default.aspx
Do you plan on putting cannons on it? It's a destroyer which are pretty small in 1/144 and this being 1/192 would be pretty small too. Have you ever thought of doing a cruiser/ armored cruiser for a first ship? Even if you don't put cannons in one, a cruiser would have more room than a destroyer, making it a lot easier to build. By the way, Welcome aboard, King! Beaver
yeah if possible i could put cannons in it i would ill like to get a few friends into this to start a club over here. and thanks for the links. so a cruiser is with the most room i would go for that one then.
Cruisers are usually a good stater ship. I'm building a French cruiser Suffren for my first ship. Here is a list of pretty good starter ships, and links to suppliers of fiberglass hulls: USS Brooklyn http://www.strikemodels.com/products/ships/uss-brooklyn/ DKM Prinz Eugen http://battlersconnection.com/html/PrinzEugen.htm FN Suffren http://battlersconnection.com/html/suffren.html USS Des Moines http://battlersconnection.com/html/desmoines.html There are a lot more ships that would be good to build also. Have you considered building in 1/144, because, if you build in 1/192 you wouldn't be able to battle with other people in 1/144. Beaver
