Glad to hear you are interested.
My son and I started together when he was 10
It is fun because my 10 year old could save his dad
We are a fast-gun group with IRCWCC
We will have a battle in Michigan on June 4

Welcome, there is a great group I play with here in Ohio, we play Washington treaty as well as battle stations. Different formats and scales. Very active group and still growing. Mike likes to host build sessions at his shop outside of Dayton and we have great fun helping each other build and repair the ships. Hope to see you at a build session or battle soon.

Steve C is also in Indiana. He lives in Crane. There are a few poeple in IL MO IA WI and a lot up here in MN. The hobby is pretty fun for father and son. What kid doesn't want to play with RC things and guns. My son started when he was 9 hes 13 now. I'd recommend getting one ship working to start with. The second one will get built much faster. But working on two at the same time will feel like you will never be done.
There are some used ships that might get you on the water faster. But be carful some need almost as much work as a new one.
    Ask for advice. Get building.

I'm also in Indiana, in the Fort Wayne area. I've been hanging out with the Treaty guys.

I am interested in coming to your August 13 battle in Versailles.

how many battlers do you think will be there?

Oh it's on like donkey Kong. I will be there, Phil, Mike, Mark, and Steve should be able to make it. Possibly John and Jim. Matt, and Jerry will hopefully be able to make it as well. It's a one day event but we could have a good turnout. I am also bringing one of my planes to do its maiden flight, so that should be exciting. Come on out and join in. Would like to meet you.

I will be there. My son might be there (he's 15). I'm not sure I'll have a working boat yet, but I'll be working on getting one in the water for October.

Also, according to the Treaty group the Aug 13 battle was moved to the Xenia site? Something else to keep in mind.

And I plan on being there. Planning on being at each of the rest of the events this year. Hopefully next spring I'll have 3 predreads and 3 newish captians to add to the group.

Keep in mind there are usually loaner boats available, but you will need namba to participate.

Not that much further in the big scheme of things.
