I am from Alexandria, LA and past Navy and have always wanted to build a replica of my ship The USS George K Mackenzie DD836. She was a Gearing class destroyer.
Can someone point me toward some place I can get plans and parts.
I do want this ship to be RC controled and have guns that shoot

    David,
Welcome aboard. As a first step, I would recommend is finding a club in your area to determine what type of ship you want to build: big gun, fast gun, treaty . . . I know that anachronus is from LA. You may want to send him a PM and get more information. Good Luck.

John Stangel and Wade Kohen are in Louisiana (MWCI). Send me the info in a PM and I will send it to them.

Bryan Michenfelder of the OAF, makes a very nice 1/144 scale fibreglass Gearing hull. You can email him here. If you'd like to view some pictures of a completed Gearing hull by another OAF member, you can view them here.
    Hope that helps a bit.

Well hello there! I would like to drop by and say Hi as well! I am new to the forum though have been with this hobby for quite a long time now.

It all started with RC cars for me then eventually jumped to helicopters and dive planes until I have found home with Battle ships.

They truly are a marvel but quite a pain to maintain. But everything is all good most especially if you are able to get them to work at the best levels all the time.
